THE LONGFORD COUNTY SCHEME (No. 3) ORDER, 1926.

COUNTY SCHEME ORDER, LONGFORD NO. 3, 1926.

To the Council of the Administrative County of Longford; to the Board of Health and Public Assistance for the County Health District of Longford; and to all whom it may concern.

WHEREAS in pursuance of section 5 of the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1923 (hereinafter referred to as the Act of 1923), the Minister for Local Government did by the Longford County Scheme Order, 1923, amend and modify the existing County Scheme relating to the County of Longford as set out in the First Schedule to the Act of 1923, in such way as to bring it into conformity with the provisions set forth in the Schedule to the said Order and did substitute the said provisions for the provisions of the said existing County Scheme (which said first-mentioned provisions are in this Order referred to as the Longford County Scheme).

AND WHEREAS in pursuance of the said Section 5 the Act of 1923, the Minister for Local Government did by the Longford County Scheme (No. 2) Order, 1923, amend the Longford County Scheme.

AND WHEREAS the Longford County Scheme has come into operation, and I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, deem it necessary to amend the said Scheme in manner hereinafter appearing and have given to the Council of the Administrative County of Longford, being the Council of the County to which the said Scheme relates, one month's previous notice of my intention to make such amendment and have taken into consideration any representation which has been made by the said Council within such month in respect of such amendment:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the powers vested in me by section 5 of the Act of 1923, as amended by the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) (Amendment) Act, 1924 , and of all other powers in this behalf enabling me, do by this my Order, order and direct as follows, that is to say:--

1. Paragraph (a) of sub-article 1 of article 15 of the Longford County Scheme shall be and the same is hereby amended by the addition thereto after the word "mothers" of the words "and orphan or deserted children"; and the addition of the following proviso: "Provided that the Board shall as soon as may be after admission make due provision for the relief of an orphan or deserted child otherwise than in the County Home, either by placing the child out at nurse or by boarding-out or otherwise in accordance with their powers in that behalf."

2. This Order may be cited and referred to as the Longford County Scheme (No. 3) Order, 1926, and shall come into operation as from the date hereof.
