THE CUSTOMS (LAND FRONTIER) REGULATIONS, 1929.

THE CUSTOMS (LAND FRONTIER) REGULATIONS, 1929.

THE CUSTOMS (LAND FRONTIER) REGULATIONS, 1929, DATED 1ST NOVEMBER, 1929, MADE BY THE MINISTER FOR FINANCE UNDER SECTION 13 of THE ADAPTATION OF ENACTMENTS ACT, 1922 .

The Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section Thirteen of the Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922 , and of every other power enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations amending the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1923, hereinafter referred to as the Principal Regulations, and the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1924 :—

1. The Commissioners shall have power to waive the requirements of Regulation 11 (1) of the Principal Regulations in respect of any train or vehicle. Where in the exercise of this power the Commissioners waive the requirements of Regulation 11 (1) of the Principal Regulations in respect of any train or vehicle, the person in charge of any such train or vehicle shall, if entering the Irish Free State, proceed forthwith from the Frontier to the Customs Station on the approved route by which such train or vehicle is proceeding, and shall, if leaving the Irish Free State, proceed forthwith from the Customs Station on the approved route by which such train or vehicle is proceeding to the Frontier, and all acts or things required by the Principal Regulations or the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1924, to be done at the Customs Frontier Post on an approved route shall be done at the Customs Station on such route.

2. The Schedule to these Regulations is hereby substituted for the Schedule to the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1924.

3. (1) These Regulations shall be construed together with, and as part of the Principal Regulations and the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1924, and may be cited as the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1929.

(2) These Regulations shall come into force on the First day of November, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty-nine.

ROUTES APPROVED FOR THE IMPORTATION AND EXPORTATION OF :—

(a) Goods not liable to any duty or to any prohibition or restriction on importation or exportation ; and

(b) motor vehicles travelling on their own wheels and either empty or carrying only goods above specified, provided that the person in charge of such a motor vehicle carries with him a Customs pass showing that no duty is payable on such vehicle on entering the Irish Free State.
