RIVER LIFFEY. | ||
I, FIONÁN O LOÍNGSIGH, Minister for Lands and Fisheries, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the Fisheries Act, 1925 , and of every other power enabling me in this behalf, do MAKE AND ORDAIN THE FOLLOWING BY-LAW :— | ||
(1) It is prohibited to capture or attempt to capture fish, or to use any instrument capable of capturing fish, in the part of the River Liffey bounded on the upstream side by the crest of the weir next above Lucan Bridge and on the downstream side by the western face of the said bridge. | ||
(2) It is prohibited to put, leave or have in possession in or on the banks of the said part of the River Liffey, or on any part of the said weir any fishing rod, gaff or other instrument used or capable of being used for capturing fish. | ||
(3) Each and every person offending against this By-Law shall forfeit and pay for each offence a sum not exceeding Five Pounds ; and all instruments used or found contrary to this By-Law shall be forfeited. | ||
(4) The Lucan Weir By-Law, No. 375, 1925, is hereby revoked. | ||
(5) This By-law may be cited for all purposes as the Lucan Weir By-Law, No. 397, 1929. | ||

NOTE:—Under the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1925 , this By-Law will come into operation on the twenty-eighth day after the above date. | ||
