APPRENTICESHIP ACT (BOOT AND SHOE REPAIRING TRADE) SPECIAL ORDER, 1939. | ||
WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 (No. 56 of 1931), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, that, subject to the provisions of that section, the Minister for Industry and Commerce may by order (in the said Act referred to as a special order) do any of the following things, that is to say :— | ||
(a) declare any particular trade to be a designated trade for the purposes of the said Act either throughout Ireland or in any specified part of Ireland, or | ||
(b) revoke or amend any order previously made by him under the said sub-section : | ||
NOW, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sub-section (1) of Section (2) of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 , as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby orders as follows :— | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Apprenticeship Act (Boot and Shoe Repairing Trade) Special Order, 1939. | ||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. | ||
3. The particular trade specified in the Schedule to this Order is hereby declared to be a designated trade for the purposes of the Apprenticeship Act, 1931 (No. 56 of 1931), throughout Ireland. | ||

SCHEDULE. | ||
The Boot and Shoe Repairing Trade, that is to say :— | ||
The repairing, wherever carried on, of boots, shoes, slippers and all kinds of leather footwear, including the making of bespoke handsewn, riveted or pegged leather footwear, but excluding the manufacture of leather footwear on a large scale, the repairing of saddlery and leather goods other than leather footwear, and the retailing of leather footwear. | ||
