LOCAL GOVERNMENT (OFFICERS AGE LIMIT) ORDER, 1946.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1941 .

WHEREAS, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health is the appropriate Minister for the purposes of Part II of the Local Government Act, 1941 , in relation to the offices to which this Order applies :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section 23 of the Local Government Act, 1941 , and of every other power in this behalf enabling him by this his Order declares and orders as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Officers Age Limit) Order, 1946.

2. The age of sixty-five years shall be the age limit for each of the offices of the classes specified in the Schedule to this Order the holder of which is entitled by law to a superannuation allowance on his resigning or otherwise ceasing to hold office.

Principal Officer, Chief Officer, Chief Clerk, Senior Clerical Officer, Staff Officer or other Clerical Officer and any officer whose duties relate to clerical or accounting work (including Accounts Clerk, Clerk in charge of Accounts and Book-Keeper), or the supervision of officers engaged on such work.
