LOCAL GOVERNMENT (OFFICERS AGE LIMIT) ORDER, 1946.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1941 .

WHEREAS, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health is the appropriate Minister for the purposes of Part II of the Local Government Act, 1941 , in relation to the offices to which this Order applies :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section 23 of the Local Government Act, 1941 , and of every other power in this behalf enabling him by this his Order declares and orders as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Officers Age Limit) Order, 1946.

2. The age of sixty-five years shall be the age limit for each of the offices of the classes specified in the Schedule to this Order the holder of which is entitled by law to a superannuation allowance on his resigning or otherwise ceasing to hold office.

City Manager and Town Clerk.	Telephone operator.
	Storekeeper.
Town Clerk	Assistant Storekeeper.
Assistant Town Clerk.	Stores Clerk.
Secretary	Solicitor.
Chief Clerk.	Law Agent.
Assistant Secretary.	Legal Adviser.
City Treasurer and Controller of Rates.	City Librarian.
Accountant.	County Librarian.
Assistant Accountant.	Librarian under Bouough or Urban
Principal Officer, Chief Officer, Chief Clerk, Senior Clerical Officer, Staff Officer or other Clerical Officer and any officer whose duties relate to clerical or accounting work (including Accounts Clerk, Clerk in charge of Accounts and Book-Keeper), or the supervision of officers engaged on such work.	District Councils.
	Assistant Librarian.
	Library Assistant
	Rate Inspector.
	Rate Checker.
	County Surveyor.
	Chief Assistant County Surveyor.
	Senior Assistant County Surveyor.
Assistant County Surveyor.
	County Engineer.
Typist.	Chief Assistant County Engineer.
Shorthand-typist.	Senior Assistant County Engineer.

Assistant County Medical Officer of Health.	Head Attendant, Deputy Head Attendant, Charge Attendant, Deputy Charge Attendant, Attendant and all officers whether designated attendant or nurse who have the care or charge of patients in Mental Hospitals in the usual course of their employment.
Medical Superintendent Officer of Health.
Assistant Medical Officer of Health.
Deputy Medical Superintendent Officer of Health.
Tuberculosis Medical Officer.
School Medical Officer (whole-time)	Public Analyst.
Assistant School Medical Officer.	Analyst.
Medical Referee.	Pathologist.
Resident Medical Superintendent of a District Institution.	Bacteriologist.
