INFECTIOUS DISEASES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1948. |

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) hereby makes the following Regulations :-- |

Definition. | ||
1. In these Regulations, the expression " the Principal Regulations means the Infectious Diseases Regulations, 1948 ( S.I. No. 99 of 1948 ). |

Amendment of Article 11 of the Principal Regulations. | ||
2. Article 11 of the Principal Regulations shall be amended by inserting after the word " typhoid " the words " dysentery, salmonella infection, scarlet fever, streptococcal sore-throat." |

Saver in relation to Article 20 of the Principal Regulations. | ||
3. Nothing in Article 20 of the Principal Regulations shall render liable to detention, disinfection or destruction any article forming part of any parcel mail conveyed under the authority of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs or of any other postal administration or shall prejudicially affect the conveyance and delivery in due course to the Post Office of any such parcel mail in accordance with the provisions of the Post Office Acts. |

Amendment of Second Schedule of Principal Regulations. | ||
4. The Second Schedule of the Principal Regulations shall be amended by inserting below the word " Rubella " the words " Salmonella infection." |

Citation and Construction. | ||
5.--(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations, 1948. |
||
(2) These Regulations shall be construed as one with the Principal Regulations. |
||
