EMERGENCY POWERS (RETAIL DISTRIBUTION OF TEA) ORDER, 1943 (TWELFTH RATION PERIOD) ORDER, 1948.

I, DANIEL MORRISSEY, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Article 31 of the Emergency Powers Order, 1939 (S. R. & O. No. 224 of 1939), as amended by the Emergency Powers (No. 173) Order, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 166 of 1942) (which Orders are continued in force by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946)), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :--

1.--(1) This Order may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Retail Distribution of Tea) Order, 1943 (Twelfth Ration Period) Order, 1948.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 27th day of November, 1948.

2. In this Order, the expression " the Principal Order " means the Emergency Powers (Retail Distribution of Tea) Order, 1943 (S. R. & O. No. 60 of 1943), as amended by the Emergency Powers (Retail Distribution of Tea) Order, 1943 (First Amendment) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 22 of 1944), and the Emergency Powers (Retail Distribution of Tea) Order, 1943 (Second Amendment) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 170 of 1944).

3. This Order shall be construed as one with the Principal Order.

4. This Order is supplemental to the Principal Order.

5. For the purposes of the Principal Order--

(a) the period (in this Article referred to as the twelfth ration period) of twenty-six weeks commencing on the 27th day of November, 1948, shall be a ration period.

(b) page 5, containing coupons marked with the words " Tae--Tea," of a general ration book issued under the Emergency Powers (General Rationing Provisions) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 130 of 1944), shall be applicable to the twelfth ration period.

6. For the purposes of the Principal Order, each coupon in page 5 forming part of a general ration book issued under the Emergency Powers (General Rationing Provisions) Order, 1944 (S. R. & O. No. 130 of 1944), and marked with the words " Tae--Tea," and a number specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be a tea coupon, but shall be valid only for the ration week commencing on the date set out in the second column of the said Schedule opposite the mention of such tea coupon.

7. The Emergency Powers (Retail Distribution of Tea) Order, 1943 (Third Amendment) Order, 1947 (S. R. & O. No. 380 of 1947), is hereby revoked and the Principal Order shall, after the commencement of this Order, have effect as if that amending Order had not been made.

SCHEDULE.

RATION WEEKS DURING WHICH CERTAIN SUGAR COUPONS ARE VALID.
