CUSTOMS DUTIES (MISCELLANEOUS SUSPENSIONS) (NO. 3) ORDER, 1948. |

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Supplies and Services (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1946 (No. 22 of 1946), hereby order as follows :-- |

1. This Order may be cited as the Customs Duties (Miscellaneous Suspensions) (No. 3) Order, 1948. |
||
2. In this Order the expression " the appointed period " means the period beginning on the 29th day of November, 1948, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1949. |
||
3. The duty of customs imposed on certain tiles by section 10 of the Finance Act, 1935 (No. 28 of 1935), and mentioned at reference number 11 in the First Schedule thereto, as amended by section 7 of the Finance Act, 1947 (No. 15 of 1947), is hereby suspended during the appointed period. |
||
4. The duty of customs imposed on roofing slates by section 11 of the Finance Act, 1935 (No. 28 of 1935), and mentioned at reference number 8 in the Second Schedule thereto, is hereby suspended during the appointed period. |
||
5. The duty of customs imposed on certain articles made wholly or partly of asbestos by section 5 of the Finance Act, 1937 (No. 18 of 1937), and mentioned at paragraph (b) of reference number 8 in the First Schedule thereto, as amended by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 157) Order, 1938 ( S. R. & O. No. 240 of 1938 ), and section 7 of the Finance Act, 1947 (No. 15 of 1947), is hereby suspended during the appointed period. |
