AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE (EGGS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1949.

AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE (EGGS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1949.

I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Act, 1939 (No. 2 of 1939), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do by this Order make the following regulations :--

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1949.

(2) The Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 to 1945, and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 to 1949.

2. In these Regulations, the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Agricultural Produce (Eggs) Regulations, 1939 ( S. R. & O. No. 169 of 1939 ).

3. Article 16 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the insertion immediately after sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (1) of the following

" and (c) with the following additional mark in the case of all eggs of the grades Selected and Pullets consigned from registered wholesaler's premises for export--

(i) in the case of Selected eggs with a mark (in these Regulations referred to as the Selected grade mark) consisting of a circle not less than seven sixteenths of an inch in diameter enclosing the letter C not less than four millimetres in height, in the manner indicated by the following pattern, thus :--

(ii) in the case of Pullets' eggs, with a mark (in these Regulations referred to as the Pullets' grade mark) consisting of a circle not less than seven sixteenths of an inch in diameter enclosing the letter S not less than four millimetres in height, in the manner indicated by the following pattern, thus :--

4. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 27th day of January, 1949.
