AGRICULTURE (TRANSFER OF DEPARTMENTAL ADMINISTRATION AND MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) (WHEAT AND FLOUR SUBSIDY) ORDER, 1949. |

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (1) of section 6 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), and of every and any other power them in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows:-- |
||
1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agriculture (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (Wheat and Flour Subsidy) Order, 1949. |
||
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1949. |
||
2. In this Order the word " functions " includes powers and duties. |
||
3. The administration and business in connection with the exercise, performance or execution of the functions transferred by this Order are hereby transferred to the Department of Agriculture. |
||
4. The functions of the Minister for Industry and Commerce in connection with:-- |
||
(a) the procurement of wheat from abroad, including in particular-- |
||
(i) the examination of the stock position and the determination of quantities required for importation through Grain Importers (Eire) Limited, |
||
(ii) the examination of allocations which may be offered and the making of representations to foreign Governments in order to secure supplies, |
||
(iii) matters arising out of the State's membership of the Food and Agriculture Organisation, the International Wheat Council, and matters relating to proposals for an international wheat agreement ; and |
||
(b) the flour subsidy and the making available of grist to millers, |
||
are hereby transferred to the Minister for Agriculture. |
||
