WILD BIRDS (COUNTY KERRY) ORDER, 1949. |
||
WHEREAS the Deputy County Manager of the County of Kerry has applied to the Minister for Justice for an Order prohibiting for a period the taking or destroying in the County of Kerry of the eggs of any wild bird other than the hoodie crow, the magpie and the wood pigeon, because of the usefulness of wild birds to agriculture. |

NOW, I, SEÁN MAC EOIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930 (No. 16 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby, because of the usefulness of wild birds to agriculture, order as follows :-- |

1. This Order may be cited as the Wild Birds (County Kerry) Order, 1949. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to this Order. |
||
3. (1) No person shall take or destroy, during the prohibited period, in the County of Kerry the eggs of any wild bird other than |
||
(a) the eggs of the hoodie crow, the magpie and the wood pigeon, |
||
(b) the eggs of any wild bird which are already prohibited from being taken or destroyed under the Wild Birds (County Kerry) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 396 of 1947 ). |

(2) In this Article the expression " the prohibited period " means the period beginning on the date of the making of this Order and ending on the 31st day of December, 1952. |
