EMERGENCY POWERS (COMPENSATION FOR PERSONAL INJURIES (LOCAL DEFENCE FORCE) SCHEME. 1942 (SECOND AMENDMENT) SCHEME, 1949.

I, THOMAS F. WHIGGINS, Minister for Defence, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Continuation of Compensation Schemes Act, 1946 (No. 19 of 1946), as amended by section 3 of the Continuation of Compensation Schemes Act, 1946 (Amendment) Act, 1949 (No. 15 of 1949), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance testified by his signature hereto, make the following Scheme :--

1. This Scheme may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Local Defence Force) Scheme, 1942 (Second Amendment) Scheme, 1949.

2. Article 8 of the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Local Defence Force) Scheme, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 451 of 1942), shall, with effect as on and from the 1st day of January, 1949, be construed as if in paragraphs (1) and (2) the words " fifty shillings " were substituted for the words " thirty seven shillings and sixpence " inserted therein by the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Local Defence Force) Scheme, 1942 (First Amendment) Scheme, 1943 (S. R. & O. No. 433 of 1943).
