S.I. No. 186/1956:

FACTORIES (REPORT OF EXAMINATION OF GASHOLDER) REGULATIONS, 1956.

FACTORIES (REPORT OF EXAMINATION OF GASHOLDER) REGULATIONS, 1956.

I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in pursuance of subsection (2) of section 44 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), hereby make the following regulations :

1.--(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Factories (Report of Examination of Gasholder) Regulations, 1956.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1956.

2. The particulars to be contained in the record of every examination of every gasholder under subsection (2) of section 44 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), shall be the following :

(a) name of occupier of factory ;

(b) address of factory ;

(c) distinguishing number or letter and type of gasholder ;

(d) (i) number of lifts,

(ii) maximum capacity in cubic feet,

(iii) pressure thrown by holder when full of gas ;

(e) particulars as to condition of--

(i) crown,

(ii) side sheeting, including grips and cups,

(iii) guiding mechanism (roller carriages, rollers, pins, guides, rails or ropes),

(iv) tank,

(v) other structures, if any (columns, framing and bracing),

(f) particulars as to the position of the lifts at the time of examination ;

(g) particulars as to whether the tanks and lifts were found sufficiently level for safe working and, if not, as to the steps taken to remedy the defect ;

(h) date of examination and by whom it was carried out.
