BUTTER (CONTROL IN SCHEDULED AREA) ORDER, 1957.

I, JAMES M. DILLON, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 4 of the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) (Amendment) Act, 1956 (No. 39 of 1956), hereby order as follows :

1.--(1) This Order may be cited as the Butter (Control in Scheduled Area) Order, 1957.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1957.

2. In this Order " the scheduled area " means the area specified in the Schedule to this Order.

3. A person (other than an authorised body) shall not--

(a) sell in the scheduled area any butter to which Section 4 of the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) (Amendment) Act, 1956 , applies,

(b) acquire any such butter for the purpose of selling it in the scheduled area,

(c) supply any such butter for the purpose of its being sold in the scheduled area, or

(d) supply any such butter to the proprietor of a catering establishment situate in the scheduled area or the head of an institution so situate,

unless the butter was supplied to him by an authorised body or by a person who obtained it from an authorised body.

SCHEDULE.

The area consisting of the county borough of Dublin, the administrative county of Dublin and the urban district of Bray.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order, which operates as from 1st April, 1957, prohibits the sale, acquisition for sale or supply for sale (including the supply to the proprietor of a catering establishment or head of an institution) by any person of creamery butter or imported butter in the county borough of Dublin, the administrative county of Dublin and the urban district of Bray unless the butter was supplied to such person by an authorised body or by a person who obtained it from an authorised body, i.e. a central marketing organisation operating under rules approved by the Minister under the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) Act, 1935 .

The Order, which is made under the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) (Amendment) Act, 1956 , is in replacement of similar provisions hitherto contained in Emergency Powers Order entitled Butter Control in Scheduled Area) Order, 1952.
