EMERGENCY IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 399) (SHIRTS) ORDER, 1957. |

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Emergency Imposition of Duties Act, 1932 (No. 16 of 1932), as adapted in consequence of the enactment of the Constitution, hereby order as follows : |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 399) (Shirts) Order, 1957. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. |
||
3. Paragraph 3 of the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 253) Order, 1950 ( S.I. No. 94 of 1950 ), shall, as respects articles imported on or after the 10th day of May, 1957, have effect as if " having collars attached, which are made wholly or mainly of cotton fabric which is either knitted or cellular woven and " were deleted. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this Order is to impose an additional Customs duty of 6/- each on such men's shirts, not exceeding 8/-, in value and of 4/- each on such boy's shirts, not exceeding 5/- in value, as are not already liable to additional Customs duty. |
||
