IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (MISCELLANEOUS SUSPENSIONS) ORDER, 1957 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1958.

IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (MISCELLANEOUS SUSPENSIONS) ORDER, 1957 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1958.

I, SÉAMAS Ó RIAIN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), and with the consent of the Minister for Industry and Commerce, hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (Miscellaneous Suspensions) Order, 1957 (Amendment) Order, 1958.

2. The Imposition of Duties (Miscellaneous Suspensions) Order, 1957 ( S.I. No. 268 of 1957 ), shall, as respects articles imported on or after the 13th day of June, 1958, have effect as if the following were substituted for the matter in the third column of the First Schedule at reference number 5, namely :

" The articles mentioned in the second column in the said Part I of the said First Schedule at the said reference number 12 as amended, other than articles of either of the following descriptions, namely :

(a) empty milk cans of a capacity not exceeding fourteen gallons and of a description commonly used for the conveyance or storage of milk in liquid form, excluding articles which are designed for use as air-tight containers,

(b) basins and bowls which are seamless, circular in shape and of which the greatest diameter is not less than ten inches or more than eighteen inches and the internal depth is not less than two inches or more than six inches."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to restore the operation of the suspended Customs duty on certain tinplate milk cans, basins and bowls.
