I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (2) of section 10 of the Office Premises Act, 1958 (No. 3 of 1958), after consultation with the Minister for Health and having referred the proposals to which effect is given by the following regulations to the Advisory Council, hereby make the following regulations : |

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Office Premises (Minimum Temperature for Workrooms and Cloakrooms) Regulations, 1959. |
||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1959. |
||
2. The reasonable temperature to be secured and maintained in offices shall be in accordance with the standard specified in the following paragraphs : |
||
(a) the temperature for every room which is or is part of an office and which is either a room in which persons are employed or a cloakroom to be not less than sixty-three degrees Fahrenheit ; |
||
(b) the temperature of sixty-three degrees Fahrenheit to be attained within one hour after the commencement of work. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The purpose of this Order is to prescribe a minimum temperature that must be maintained in office workrooms and cloakrooms. |
