CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (NYLON, RAYON AND TERYLENE YARN WINDING INDUSTRY) (EXCLUSION) REGULATIONS, 1959. |

I, JOHN LYNCH, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 29 and 52 of the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936 (No. 2 of 1936), and after consultation with representatives of employers interested in the form of industrial work specified in the Schedule hereto and representatives of employees so interested, hereby make the following regulations :-- |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Conditions of Employment (Nylon, Rayon and Terylene Yarn Winding Industry) (Exclusion) Regulations, 1959. |
||
2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. |
||
3. The form of industrial work specified in the Schedule to these Regulations is hereby declared to be excluded industrial work for the purpose of section 46 of the Conditions of Employment Act, 1936 (No. 2 of 1936). |
||
4. The following provisions shall have effect in respect of the work to which these Regulations relate : |
||
(a) no woman shall be employed to do any such work on any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday at any time between the hour of 11 p.m. on any such day and the hour of 8 a.m. on the following day ; |
||
(b) no woman shall be employed to do any such work on any Saturday or Sunday at any time between the hours of 10 p.m. on any such day and the hour of 8 a.m. on the following day ; |
||
(c) no woman shall be so employed on any day until after the expiration of eleven hours from the time at which she ceased to do industrial work on the previous day. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The Conditions of Employment Act, 1936 , provides that women may be employed in industrial work between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. The purpose of this Order is to permit the employment of women in the winding of Nylon, Rayon and Terylene Yarns between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. |
