FISHERIES (DELEGATION OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1961.

The Government, at the request of the Minister for Lands and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (1) of section 9 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Fisheries (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1961.

2. The several statutory powers and duties of the Minister for Lands specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby delegated to Brian Joseph Lenihan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Lands.

SCHEDULE.

The powers and duties in relation to fisheries of the Minister for Lands under each of the following Acts:--

( a ) Statistics Acts, 1926 and 1946.

( b ) Electricity (Supply) Acts, 1927 to 1961.

( c ) Fisheries (Revision of Loans) Act, 1931 (No. 33 of 1931).

( d ) Shannon Fisheries Acts, 1935 and 1938.

( e ) Whale Fisheries Act, 1937 (No. 4 of 1937).

( f ) Agricultural Products (Regulation of Import) Act, 1938 (No. 14 of 1938).

( g ) Arterial Drainage Acts, 1945 and 1955.

( h ) Turf Development Acts, 1946 to 1959.

( i ) Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947).

( j ) Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949 (No. 17 of 1949).

( k ) Freshwater Fisheries (Prohibition of Netting) Act, 1951 (No. 21 of 1951).

( l ) Sea Fisheries Acts, 1952 to 1959.

( m ) Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 (No. 14 of 1959).

( n ) Maritime Jurisdiction Act, 1959 (No. 22 of 1959).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order delegates to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Lands the specified powers and duties of the Minister for Lands in relation to fisheries.
