I, PÁDRAIG S. Ó HIRIGHILE, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section I of the Patents Act, 1964 (No. 12 of 1964), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Patents Act, 1964 (Commencement) Order, 1966.

2. The 1st day of July, 1966, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Patents Act, 1964 (No. 12 of 1964), shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 2nd day of May, 1966.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 1st July, 1966, as the date on which the Patents Act, 1964 (No. 12 of 1964) comes into operation. By virtue of Rule 3 of the Patents Rules, 1965, the date of commencement of those Rules is also the 1st July, 1966.
