FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE (RESTRICTION OF IMPORT OF VEHICLES, MACHINERY AND OTHER EQUIPMENT) ORDER, 1967. |

I, NEIL T. BLANEY, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 30 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), hereby order as follows: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restriction of Import of Vehicles, Machinery and other Equipment) Order, 1967. |
||
2. In this Order "animal" means an animal specified in Part 1 of the First Schedule to the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as amended by Article 5 of the Foot and Mouth Disease (Importation of Animals) Order, 1967 ( S.I. No. 235 of 1967 ). |

3. The importation of-- |
||
(a) any agricultural or horticultural machinery or other such equipment which is not unused, |
||
(b) any vehicle or container which has been used to transport or contain any animal, |
||
and which at any time prior to the importation has been in a place in Great Britain, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence granted in that behalf by the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries and unless such licence is, at the time of importation, delivered to the proper officer of Customs and Excise. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this Order is to prohibit, except under licence, the importation of (i) used agricultural or horticultural machinery which has been in Great Britain, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and (ii) any vehicle or container which has been used to transport or contain any animal and which has been in Great Britain, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man. |
