I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 12 of the Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) Act, 1963 (No. 15 of 1963), as amended by section 1 of the Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) Act, 1971 (No. 19 of 1971), hereby make the following regulations (the charges thereunder having been determined by me in pursuance of tariffs approved of under an international agreement to which the State is a party):

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) (Route Charges) (Amendment) Regulations, 1972, and shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1972.
|
|
|
(2) The Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) (Route Charges) Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 290 of 1971 ), and these Regulations may be cited together as the Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) (Route Charges) Regulations, 1971 and 1972.
|
|
|
2. The Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) (Route Charges) Regulations, 1971, are hereby amended as follows:
|
|
|
(a) in paragraph (1) of Regulation 5, for "0·8167 United States dollars" there shall be substituted "0.8909 United States dollars";
|
|
|
(b) in paragraph (7) of Regulation 5, for "0·4783 United States dollars" there shall be substituted "0.5235 United States dollars" and for "0.8167 United States dollars"there shall be substituted "0·8909 United States dollars";
|
|
|
(c) for the Schedule there shall be substituted the Schedule set out in the Annex to these Regulations.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
|
|
|
The amending Regulations provide for the amendment of existing charges to take account of changes in parity between the currencies of the member States of Eurocontrol and the United States dollar and also provide for the inclusion of additional transatlantic routes.
