PRICES (STABILISATION OF PROFIT MARGINS OF IMPORTERS AND WHOLESALERS) ORDER, 1973.

PRICES (STABILISATION OF PROFIT MARGINS OF IMPORTERS AND WHOLESALERS) ORDER, 1973.

I, JUSTIN KEATING, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 22F (inserted by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1972 (No. 20 of 1972)) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Prices (Stabilisation of Profit Margins of Importers and Wholesalers) Order, 1973.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 29th day of June, 1973.

3. The amount in money by which the price at which any commodity specified in the Schedule to this Order is sold in the course of business by any person engaged in trade or commerce, being an importer or wholesaler of that commodity, exceeds the price at which that commodity is bought by that person is hereby fixed as the amount in money by which the price at which that commodity was sold in the course of business by that person on the 23rd day of June, 1973, or if there was no such sale on the 23rd day of June, 1973, on the latest day before the 23rd day of June, 1973, on which there was such a sale, exceeded the price at which that commodity was bought by that person.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides that the profit margins to be taken by importers and wholesalers on the commodities specified in Schedule to this Order shall not exceed the actual cash profit margins taken by them on those commodities on 23rd June, 1973.
