FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (No. 10) WARRENT, 1975.

FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (No. 10) WARRENT, 1975.

I, CONOR CRUISE O'BRIEN, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:--

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 10) Warrant, 1975.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1976.

2. In this Warrant "the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Parcel Post Warrant, 1953 ( S.I. No. 418 of 1953 ).

3. Paragraph (b) of Regulation 9 of the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the insertion after "addressee" of "and the name and full address of the sender".

4. Regulation 25 of the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the insertion after "prepayment" in line 3 of "at the time of posting".

5. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 5 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 8) Warrant, 1971 ( S.I. No. 199 of 1971 )) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant.

6. The Third Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 3 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1971 ( S.I. No. 279 of 1974 )) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Warrant.

7. Part 1 of the Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 7 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 8) Warrant, 1971) of the entries in the Third Schedule to this Warrant.

8. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 4 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 9) Warrant, 1974) of the entries in the fourth Schedule to this Warrant.

9. Regulation 8 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 4) Warrant, 1959 ( S.I. No. 48 of 1959 ), is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

"Maximum Postage:
Parcel (except an Air Mail parcel) £10 for a parcel not exceeding 22 lb.
Air Mail parcel £1.50 per ½ lb."

SECOND SCHEDULE

"Customs Clearance Fee
On each parcel where customs duty is payable 30p
Outgoing Express Delivery Fee 26p
Advice of Delivery Fee on outgoing insured parcel 7p"

THIRD SCHEDULE

"Part I (Uninsured Parcels)

Weight of Parcel Compensation
Not over 11 lbs. £7.20
Not over 22 lbs. £10.80

"Cash-on-Delivery Parcels
Cash-on-delivery fee 60p on outgoing parcel"

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant applies to the Foreign Parcel Post service and comes into operation on the 1st January, 1976. It authorises an increase in the maximum postage which may be charged on a foreign parcel from £6 to £10. It also authorises increases in fees charged for the Insurance, Customs Clearance and Cash-on-Delivery services and for increases in compensation in respect of uninsured parcels.
