OIREACHTAS (ALLOWANCES TO MEMBERS) (TRAVELLING FACILITIES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1976.

OIREACHTAS (ALLOWANCES TO MEMBERS) (TRAVELLING FACILITIES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1976.

I, RICHIE RYAN, Minister for the Public Service, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 (1) of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices (Amendment) Act, 1964 (No. 14 of 1964), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These regulations may be cited as the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) (Amendment) Regulations, 1976.

(2) The Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) Regulations, 1964 to 1974, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) Regulations, 1964 to 1976.

2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1976.

3. The Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) Regulations, 1964 ( S.I. No. 281 of 1964 ), are hereby amended by the substitution for the Schedule thereto (inserted by the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) (Travelling Facilities) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 167 of 1974 )) of the following:

"SCHEDULE
Class of Rates Primary Rate (payable for first 15,000 miles travelled in any year commencing 1st April) per mile Secondary Rate (payable for miles travelled between 15,000 and 20,000 in any year commencing 1st April) per mile Tertiary Rate (payable for miles travelled over 20,000 in any year commencing 1st April) per mile

Class A -- Motor Cars more than 8 H.P. but less than 10 H.P.

,, B -- Motor Cars not less than 10 H.P. but less than 12 H.P.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide for an increase in the motor mileage rates payable to Members of the Oireachtas.
