MAXIMUM PRICES (SUGAR) ORDER, 1976. |

The Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 22A and 22C (inserted by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1965 (No. 23 of 1965)) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958), as amended by the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1972 (No. 20 of 1972), and the Prices Stabilisation Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 96 of 1973 ), hereby orders as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Maximum Prices (Sugar) Order, 1976. |
||
2. This Order shall come into operation on the 13th day of October, 1976. |
||
3. The maximum prices at which granulated white sugar may be sold by retail shall be-- |
||
( a ) in the case of a package containing 1 lb. of such sugar, 12½p; |
||
( b ) in the case of a package containing 2 lbs. of such sugar, 24½p; |
||
( c ) in the case of a package containing more than 2 lbs. of such sugar, a price calculated at the rate of 24½p per 2 lbs. |
||
4. The Maximum Prices (Sugar) Order, 1975 ( S.I. No. 60 of 1975 ), is hereby revoked. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
