HARBOUR RATES (HARBOURS OF DUBLIN, SKERRIES AND BALBRIGGAN) (No. 2) ORDER, 1976.

HARBOUR RATES (HARBOURS OF DUBLIN, SKERRIES AND BALBRIGGAN) (No. 2) ORDER, 1976.

I, PETER BARRY, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 104 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), and after due compliance with section 106 of that Act, hereby order as follows :

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Harbour Rates (Harbours of Dublin, Skerries and Balbriggan) (No. 2) Order, 1976.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 25th day of October, 1976.

2. The First Schedule to the Harbour Rates (Harbours of Dublin, Skerries and Balbriggan) Order, 1976, is hereby amended by the substitution for,

"RATES TO BE PAID ON GOODS AND MERCHANDISE SHIPPED, TRANSHIPPED, OR UNSHIPPED IN THE HARBOURS OF DUBLIN, SKERRIES OR BALBRIGGAN (CHARGEABLE ON GROSS WEIGHT INCLUDING PACKAGES) " of,

"RATES FOR CONTAINERS AND FLATS

20’ £5 £0.30 £3.75 £0.22
30’ £7.50 £0.45 £5.63 £0.33
40’ £10.00 £0.60 £7.50 £0.44

Where a container or flat is not a standard unit, the rate shall be the rate which is appropriate for the next largest container or flat which is a standard unit or, in case the container or flat exceeds 40 feet, the rate for 40 foot containers or flats.

RATES TO BE PAID ON GOODS AND MERCHANDISE (OTHER THAN GOODS OR MERCHANDISE SHIPPED, TRANSHIPPED OR UNSHIPPED IN OR ON CONTAINERS OR FLATS) SHIPPED, TRANSHIPPED OR UNSHIPPED IN THE HARBOURS OF DUBLIN, SKERRIES OR BALBRIGGAN (CHARGEABLE ON GROSS WEIGHT INCLUDING PACKAGES)".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order authorises the Dublin Port and Docks Board to charge a flat rate on all goods carried in containers or on flats.
