FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (NO. 14) WARRANT, 1980.

FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (NO. 14) WARRANT, 1980.

I, MARK KILLILEA, Minister of State at the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 , (No. 18 of 1969), and the Posts and Telegraphs (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1980, ( S.I. No. 20 of 1980 ), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:--

1. (1) This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 14) Warrant, 1980.

(2) This Warrant shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1980.

2. In this Warrant--

"the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Parcel Post Warrant, 1953 ( S.I. No. 418 of 1953 ).

"the Warrant of 1979" means the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 13) Warrant, 1979 ( S.I. No. 262 of 1979 ).

3. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by a substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 3 of the Warrant of 1979) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant.

4. The Third Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 4 of the Warrant of 1979) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Warrant.

5. Part II of the Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant (inserted by Regulation 5 of the Warrant of 1979) is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein of the entries in the Third Schedule to this Warrant.

6. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 6 of the Warrant of 1979) of the entries in the Fourth Schedule to this Warrant.

Parcel (except an Air Mail parcel)

£20 for a parcel not exceeding 10 kg.

Air Mail parcel £3.00 per 250 g.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Customs clearance Fee:

On each parcel where customs duty is payable

Outgoing Express Delivery Fee 32p
Advice of Delivery Fee on outgoing insured parcel 15p

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Warrant applies to the Foreign Parcel Post service and comes into operation on the 1st July, 1980. It authorises an increase in the maximum postage which may be charged on a foreign surface parcel from £15 to £20 and on a foreign air parcel from £2.50 to £3.00 per 250g. It also authorises increases in fees charged for the Insurance, Customs Clearance and Cash-on-Delivery service and for increases in compensation in respect of insured parcels.
