LANDLORD AND TENANT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1980 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1980

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Act, 1980 (No. 10 of 1980), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Act, 1980 (Commencement) Order, 1980.

2. The 8th day of September, 1980, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Act, 1980 , shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 27th day of August, 1980.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings the Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Act, 1980 , into operation on the 8th day of September, 1980. The Act amends the law relating to the renewal of leases and tenancies and to compensation for improvements and for disturbance or loss of title and provides for certain other matters.
