The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 14 and 18 of the Litter Act, 1982 (No. 11 of 1982), hereby makes the following Regulations:--

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Litter Regulations, 1982.

2. In these Regulations "the Act" means the Litter Act, 1982 .

3. (1) Form No. 1 set out in the Schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of notice for the purposes of subsection (1) of section 5 of the Act.

(2) Form No. 2 set out in the Schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of notice for the purposes of subsection (1) of section 8 of the Act.

(3) Form No. 3 set out in the schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of notice for the purposes of subsection (6) of section 8 of the Act.

(4) Form No. 4 set out in the Schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of notice for the purposes of section 11 of the Act.

(5) Form No. 5 set out in the Schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of notice for the purposes of subsection (1) of section 12 of the Act.

(6) Form No. 6 set out in the schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of notice for the purposes of subsection (5) of section 12 of the Act.

(7) Form No. 7 set out in the Schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of notice for the purposes of subsection (1) (a) of section 13 of the Act.

(8) Form No. 8 set out in the schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of notice for the purposes of subsection (1) (b) of section 13 of the Act.

(9) Form No. 9 set out in the Schedule hereto shall be the prescribed form of declaration for the purposes of subsection (2) of section 13 of the Act.

4. Moneys accruing to a local authority under the Act shall be disposed of by being lodged--

( a ) in case the local authority is the corporation of a county or other borough, or the council of an urban district, to the credit of the municipal fund of the county borough, borough or urban district, or

( b ) in case the local authority is the council of a county, to the credit of the county fund of the county.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The provisions of these Regulations relate to procedural matters such as the "fine-on-the-spot" notice for litter offences; notice relating to the removal of abandoned vehicles; notices requiring action to be taken in relation to flyposting, graffiti, slogan-writing and, in particular circumstances, vehicles and certain articles; the disposal of moneys accruing to local authorities and other miscellaneous matters under the Litter Act, 1982 .
