CUSTOMS-FREE AIRPORT (EXTENSION OF LAWS) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 1983.

I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 13 of the Customs-free Airport Act, 1947 (No. 5 of 1947) (as amended by section 11 of the Customs-free Airport (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 29 of 1958)), the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), and the Tourism and Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1980 ), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Customs-free Airport (Extension of Laws) (No. 2) Regulations, 1983.

2. Section 7 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1972 (No. 5 of 1972), shall, insofar as it applies to the importation of wireless telegraphy apparatus of a class or description specified in the Wireless Telegraphy (Control of Sale, Letting on Hire or Manufacture, and Importation of Radio Transceivers) Order, 1981 (S.I. No. 400 of 1981), extend to the Customs-free Airport.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these Regulations is to extend to the Customs-free Airport at Shannon section 7 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1972 (No. 5 of 1972), insofar as it applies to the importation of wireless telegraphy apparatus of a class or description specified in the Wireless Telegraphy (Control of Sale, Letting on Hire or Manufacture, and Importation of Radio Transceivers) Order, 1981 (S.I. No. 400 of 1981).
