VETERINARY SURGEONS (REGISTRATION FEES AND ANNUAL FEES) ORDER, 1985.

VETERINARY SURGEONS (REGISTRATION FEES AND ANNUAL FEES) ORDER, 1985.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 28 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act, 1931 (No. 36 of 1931) hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Veterinary Surgeons (Registration Fees and Annual Fees) Order, 1985.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1985.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. In lieu of the amount appointed by Article 5 (a) of the Veterinary Surgeons (Registration Fees and Annual Fees) Order, 1982 ( S.I. No. 24 of 1982 ), £55 is hereby appointed as the amount of the fee payable under section 28 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act, 1931 (No. 36 of 1931), where the person by whom the fee is payable is, on the 1st day of April in the year in respect of which the fee is payable, less than sixty-five years of age.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to fix at fifty-five pounds the annual fee payable to the Veterinary Council of Ireland by veterinary surgeons who are aged less than 65 years. The annual fee payable by veterinary surgeons aged 65 years and over, and the registration fee payable to the Veterinary Council of Ireland are to remain at fifteen pounds and forty pounds respectively.
