WILDLIFE (WILD MAMMALS) (OPEN SEASONS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1986.

WILDLIFE (WILD MAMMALS) (OPEN SEASONS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1986.

I, LIAM KAVANAGH, Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 8 (2) and 25 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), as adapted by the Fisheries and Forestry (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1986 ( S.I. No. 40 of 1986 ), hereby order as follows:--

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) Order, 1986.

(2) The Principal Order and this Order may be cited together as the Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) Orders, 1979 and 1986.

2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the Wildlife (wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) Order, 1979 ( S.I. No. 193 of 1979 ).

3. The Principal Order is hereby amended by the insertion after Article 2 of the following Article:

"3. (a) The species of protected wild mammals specified in the first column of Part III of the Schedule of this Order may be hunted in any part of the State, other than the area described in paragraph (b) of this Article, during the period of days specified in the second column of that Part opposite the mention in the said first column of such species and in the manner so specified in the third column of that Part.

(b) The area referred to in paragraph (a) of this Article is the area comprising the following townlands in the county of Wexford--

North East Slob,

North West Slob,

Big Island,

Beggerin Island,

The Raven.

4. The Principal Order is hereby further amended by the substitution for the Schedule of the Schedule to this Order.

From the 1st day of November in any year to the 31st day of January in the following year, both dates inclusive.

Hares: From the 26th day of September in any year to the 28th day of February in the following year, both dates inclusive. Shooting with firearms. Coursing at regulated coursing matches. Hunting with packs of beagles and harriers.
