GARDA SÍOCHÁNA (PROMOTION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1990.

I, RAY BURKE, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 14 of the Police Forces (Amalgamation) Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and with the approval of the Government, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Garda Síochána (Promotion) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990.

2. Regulation 9 (5) of the Garda Síochána (Promotion) Regulations, 1987 ( S.I. No. 39 of 1987 ), is hereby amended by the substitution of the following subparagraph for subparagraph (a):

"(a) Members recruited pursuant to the provisions of Regulation 14 of the Garda Síochána (Admissions and Appointments) Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 164 of 1988 ), and assigned to serve in a particular section of the Garda Síochána shall not be eligible for transfer to any other section or part of the Garda Síochána on promotion or otherwise."

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This amendment allows the transfer of persons recruited under Regulation 7 of the Garda Síochána (Appointments) Regulations, 1945.
