I, JOHN P. WILSON, Minister for the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 13 of the Lough Corrib Navigation Act, 1945 (No. 37 of 1945), and the Communications (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1987 ), and on the application of the Lough Corrib Navigation Trustees, hereby order as follows: |

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Lough Corrib Navigation Act, 1945 (Section 13) Order, 1990. |
||
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of August 1990. |
||
2. The Board of Trustees may transfer to the Galway Corporation the portion of the Navigation and the works forming part thereof described in the Schedule to this Order. |

SCHEDULE |
||
The area known as the canal basin being-- |
||
Lock No. 1 - 130 feet long from mitre to mitre, and 20½ feet wide; the lower sill at the level of the datum line, and the upper sill 5 feet above datum line, with lock gates, sluices mooring posts, guard-chain and winch complete. |
||
Floating or tidal basin 470 feet in length, and 168 feet in breadth; the bottom at a level of 5 feet above datum, and stanch guard -- wall or pier, extending along the River Corrib, quay walls and wharfage 945 feet in length, with landing steps. |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order provides for the transfer, from Lough Corrib Navigation Trustees to Galway Corporation, of that part of the Navigation known as the Canal Basin, Galway. |
