PENSIONS ACT, 1990 (PARTS I AND II) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1990.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 (2) of the Pensions Act, 1990 (No. 25 of 1990), hereby orders as follows:--

1. This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act, 1990 (Parts I and II) (Commencement) Order, 1990.

2. Parts I and II of the Pensions Act, 1990 shall come into operation on the 21st day of December, 1990.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into effect the provisions of Parts I and II of the Pensions Act, 1990 .

Part I of the Act provides for offences and penalties for contravention of the Act and contains standard provisions in relation to interpretation, regulations, etc.

Part II provides for the establishment of a body to be known as An Bord Pinsean -- The Pensions Board and for other related matters.
