S.I. No. 84/1991:

THE SOLICITORS ACTS 1954 AND 1960 (EUROPEAN COMMUNITY LAWYERS) (FEES) REGULATIONS, 1991.

THE SOLICITORS ACTS 1954 AND 1960 (EUROPEAN COMMUNITY LAWYERS) (FEES) REGULATIONS, 1991.

The Incorporated Law Society of Ireland in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 5 and 82 of the Solicitors Act 1954 and with the concurrence of the President of the High Court hereby make the following Regulations.

1. On and after the date on which these Regulations shall come into operation, the fees specified in the Schedule hereto shall be paid to the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland by a person qualified to practice law in another member State of the European Community who is seeking admission as a solicitor in Ireland under the provisions of the European Communities (General System for the Recognition of Higher Education Diplomas) Regulations 1991 ( S.I. No. 1 of 1991 ) and the Qualified Lawyers (European Community) Regulations 1991 ( S.I. No. 85 of 1991 ).

2. These Regulations may be cited as the Solicitors Acts 1954 and 1960 (European Community Lawyers) (Fees) Regulations 1991 and shall come into operation on the 25th day of March, 1991.

SCHEDULE

1. On submission of application ... ... ... £100
2. On sitting the Test; a fee to meet the cost to the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland of administering the Test but not in any individual case to exceed in total ... ... ... ... ... £800
3. On applying for entry of the applicant's name on the Roll of Solicitors ... ... ... ... ... £100

In pursuance of the provisions of Section 82 of the Solicitors Act 1954 as amended by section 25 (1) of the Solicitors (Amendment) Act 1960 I concur in the making of the above Regulations.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations determine the fees to be paid to the Society by qualified lawyers in other member states of the European Community on submission of an application to the Society, on sitting an aptitude test and on applying for entry to the Roll of Solicitors.
