I, JOHN P. WILSON, Tánaiste and Minister for the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the Local Elections Act, 1965 (No. 19 of 1965), and the Communications (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1987 ), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Local Elections Act, 1965 (Harbour Authorities) Regulations, 1991.

2. The 18th day of September in an election year is hereby substituted for the 7th day of July referred to in subsection (3) of section 8 of the Harbours Act, 1946 (No. 9 of 1946) for the purpose of an order providing for the appointment by an assisting authority of one or more of the local authority members of a harbour authority.

3. The period beginning on the 7th day of July and ending on 24th day of September in an election year is hereby substituted for the period mentioned in subsection (1) and subsections (3) to (9) of section 10 of the Harbours Act, 1946 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these Regulations is to substitute different dates for the dates mentioned in Sections 8 (3), 10 (1) and 10 (3) to 10 (9) of the Harbours Act, 1946 .
