IMPORTATION OF MILK AND CREAM (PROHIBITION) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1992.

I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 30 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 97 of 1987 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Importation of Milk and Cream (Prohibition) (Amendment) Order, 1992.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 15th day of October, 1992.

(3) The Importation of Milk and Cream (Prohibition) Order, 1967, and this Order may be cited together as the Importation of Milk and Cream (Prohibition) Orders, 1967 and 1992,

2. The Importation of Milk and Cream (Prohibition) Order, 1967 (S.1. No. 242 of 1967), is hereby amended by the substitution of the following for Article 2:

"2. In this Order 'milk' means colostrum, full cream and skimmed milk, buttermilk, whey, kephir, yoghourt and similar fermented milk and any extracts of such milk.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order extends the application of the Importation of Milk and Cream (Prohibition) Order, 1967 ( S.I. No. 242 of 1967 ) to include colostrum and extracts of milk and prohibits their importation except under licence.
