The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 (No. 1 of 1981) and section 38 of that Act (as amended by section 26 of the Social Welfare Act, 1993 (No. 5 of 1993)) hereby makes the following Regulations:-- |

Short title. | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Insurable (Occupational Injuries) Employment) (Amendment) Regulations, 1993. |

Insurable (Occupational Injuries) Employment. | ||
2. The Social Welfare (Insurable (Occupational Injuries) Employment) Regulations, 1967 ( S.I. No. 80 of 1967 ) are hereby amended by the insertion after article 8 (inserted by article 2 of the Social Welfare (Insurable (Occupational Injuries) Employment) (Amendment) Regulations, 1968 ( S.I. No. 229 of 1968 )) of the following article-- |

"9. The courses prescribed for the purposes of subsection (11) of section 38 (as amended by section 26 of the Social Welfare Act, 1993 ) of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 shall be-- |
||
( a ) a course provided or approved by An Foras Áiseanna Saothair, Teagasc or C.E.R.T. Limited, and |
||
( b ) a course under a project approved by the Department of Enterprise and Employment operating under initiatives of the European Communities and known as Euroform, Horizon and NOW.". |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
These Regulations prescribe courses approved by FÁS, Teagasc, C.E.R.T. Ltd. and projects approved by the Department of Enterprise and Employment under the Euroform, Horizon and NOW initiatives of the European Communities to be courses for the purpose of section 38 (11) of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 . |
