I, RUAIRÍ QUINN, Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 5 of the Industrial Development Act, 1993 , (No. 19 of 1993), hereby order as follows: |
||

1. This order may be cited as the Industrial Development Act, 1993 (Establishment Day) (Forfás, Forbairt and Industrial Development Agency (Ireland)) Order, 1993. |
||
|
2. The 1st day of January, 1994 is hereby appointed as establishment day for the purposes of the Industrial Development Act, 1993 (No. 19 of 1993). |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
|
This Order appoints the 1st day of January, 1994 as the day on which the provisions of the Industrial Development Act, 1993 shall come into operation. |
||
|
The purpose of the Industrial Development Act, 1993 is to establish the new State Agency structures for industrial development. Three new bodies will be established: Forfás, Forbairt and IDA (Ireland). The existing agencies, viz. IDA and Eolas, will be dissolved. |
