In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for the Environment by section 6 (2) of the Urban Renewal Act, 1986 (No. 19 of 1986), which powers are delegated to me by the Environment (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 3 of 1995 ), I, LIZ McMANUS, Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, hereby order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Urban Renewal Act, 1986 (Designated Areas) Order, 1995. |
||
2. Each of the areas described in Part II of the Schedule to this Order is hereby declared to be a designated area for the purposes of the Urban Renewal Act, 1986 . |

PART I |
||
In this Schedule-- |
||
"thoroughfare" includes any avenue, embankment, gardens, hill, lane, market, parade, park, place, quay, road, street, terrace, yard; |
||
a reference to a line drawn along any thoroughfare is a reference to a line drawn along the centre of that thoroughfare; |
||
a reference to a projection of any thoroughfare is a reference to a projection of a line drawn along the centre of that thoroughfare; |
||
a reference to the point where any thoroughfare or projection of any thoroughfare intersects or joins any other thoroughfare or projection of a thoroughfare is a reference to the point where a line drawn along the centre of one thoroughfare, or in the case of a projection of a thoroughfare, along the projection, would be intersected or joined by a line drawn along the centre of the other thoroughfare or, in the case of another projection of a thoroughfare, along the other projection; |
||
a reference to a point where any thoroughfare is intersected by the projection of a boundary is a reference to the point where a line drawn along the centre of such thoroughfare would be intersected by the projection of such boundary. |

Description of Designated Areas in Bray |
||
Albert Avenue Area |
||
That part of the urban district of Bray bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where the western projection of the northern boundary of No. 8 West View Terrace intersects Adelaide Road, then continuing in an easterly direction along the said projection and boundary to the point where it joins the eastern boundary of the said premises, then continuing in a southerly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and the southern projection thereof to the point where it intersects Albert Avenue, then continuing in an easterly direction along Albert Avenue to the point where it is intersected by the northern projection of the eastern boundary of the former Post Office property (known locally as No. 1 Albert Terrace), then continuing in a southerly direction along the last-mentioned projection and boundary to the point where it joins the southern boundary of the last-mentioned property, then continuing in a westerly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and the western projection thereof to the point where it intersects Meath Road, then continuing in a northerly direction along Meath Road to the point where it joins Albert Avenue, then continuing in a westerly direction along Albert Avenue to the point where it is joined by Adelaide Road, then continuing in a northerly direction along Adelaide Road to the first-mentioned point. |

That part of the urban district of Bray bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where the unnamed road (known locally as Station Road) is intersected by the eastern projection of the northern boundary of the property identified as lot No. 39b, Quinsborough Road on Valuation Office Bray Map 3568-14, issued on the 28th day of November, 1990, then continuing in a westerly direction along the said projection and boundary, and the western projection thereof to the point where it intersects Adelaide Road, then continuing in a northerly direction along Adelaide Road to the point where it is intersected by the western projection of the southern boundary of the Bray Bowl premises, then continuing in an easterly direction along the last-mentioned projection and boundary to the point where it joins the eastern boundary of the said Bray Bowl, then continuing in a northerly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and the northern projection thereof to the point where it intersects Quinsborough Road, then continuing in an easterly direction along Quinsborough Road to the point where it is joined by the unnamed road (known locally as Station Road), then continuing in a southerly direction along the said Station Road to the first-mentioned point. |

That part of the borough of Clonmel bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where Emmet Street is intersected by the eastern projection of the southern boundary of the premises known as Richmond Mill, then continuing in a westerly direction along the last-mentioned projection and boundary to the point where it joins the western boundary of the said premises, then continuing in a northerly direction along the said western boundary to the point where it joins the northern boundary of the said premises, then continuing, initially in an easterly direction, along the last-mentioned boundary and the eastern projection thereof to the point where it intersects Emmet Street, then continuing in a southerly direction along Emmet Street to the first-mentioned point. |

That part of the county borough of Cork bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where Saint Peter's Avenue joins North Main Street, then continuing in a southerly direction along North Main Street to the point where it is intersected by the eastern projection of the southern boundary of No. 87 North Main Street, then continuing in a westerly direction along the last-mentioned projection and boundary to the point where it joins the western boundary of the last-mentioned premises, then continuing in a northerly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and the northern projection thereof, to the point where it intersects Saint Peter's Avenue, then continuing initially in an easterly direction along Saint Peter's Avenue to the first-mentioned point. |

That part of the county borough of Dublin bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where Proby's Lane is intersected by the southern projection of the eastern boundary of No. 6 Henry Street, then continuing in a straight undefined line in a south-easterly direction to the point where it joins the western extremity of Prince's Street North, then continuing in an easterly direction along Prince's Street North to the point where it is intersected by the southern projection of the western boundary of No. 18-21 Henry Street, then continuing in a northerly direction along the last-mentioned projection and boundary to the point where it joins the southern boundary of No. 17 Henry Street, then continuing initially in a westerly direction along the last-mentioned boundary to its westernmost end, then continuing in a westerly direction in a straight undefined line to the first-mentioned point. |

That part of the borough of Sligo bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where O'Connell Street joins Grattan Street, then continuing in an easterly direction along Grattan Street and Castle Street to the point where it is joined by Thomas Street, then continuing in a northerly direction along Thomas Street to the point where it is joined by Rockwood Parade, then continuing initially in a westerly direction along Rockwood Parade to the point where it joins Lower Knox Street, then continuing in a westerly direction along Lower Knox Street to the point where it joins O'Connell Street, then continuing in a southerly direction along O'Connell Street to the first-mentioned point. |

That part of the borough of Sligo bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where Domonic Street is joined by West Gardens, then continuing in an easterly direction along West Gardens to the point where it joins High Street, then continuing initially in a southerly direction along High Street and Connolly Street to the point where it joins Temple Street, then continuing in a north-westerly direction along Temple Street to the point where it is joined by Market Yard Entrance South, then continuing in a northerly direction along Market Yard Entrance South to the point where it is intersected by the eastern projection of the southern wall of Market Place, then continuing in a westerly direction along the last-mentioned projection and wall and the southern boundary of the warehouse which adjoins the last-mentioned wall, then continuing in a north-easterly direction along the western wall of the last-mentioned warehouse and the north-eastern projection thereof to the point where it intersects the southern boundary of the Sligo Business Centre, then continuing in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the said Sligo Business Centre to the point where it joins the western boundary of the said Sligo Business Centre, then continuing in a northerly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and the northern projection thereof to the point where it intersects Domonic Street, then continuing in a northerly direction along Domonic Street to the first-mentioned point. |

That part of the urban district of Tralee bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where North Circular Road is intersected by the southern projection of the western boundary of the property known locally as Kelliher's Agri-Business, then continuing in a northerly direction along the said projection and boundary to the point where it joins the south-western boundary of the property known as Dunnes Stores, then continuing in a south-easterly direction along the last-mentioned boundary to the point where it is intersected by the northern projection of the eastern boundary of No. 6 Saint John's Park, then continuing in a southerly direction along the last-mentioned projection to the point where it intersects North Circular Road, then continuing, initially in a north-westerly direction, along North Circular Road to the first-mentioned point. |

Dan Spring Road Area |

That part of the urban district of Tralee bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) 65 metres along Dan Spring Road east of where the said road is intersected by the northern projection of the eastern boundary of the property known as the Aquadome, then continuing in a southerly direction in a straight undefined line, parallel to the said eastern boundary, to the point where it intersects the northern embankment of the River Lee, then continuing in a north-easterly direction along the said embankment for a distance of 300 metres, then continuing in a northerly direction in a straight undefined line parallel to the eastern boundary of the said Aquadome property to the point where it intersects Dan Spring Road, then continuing in a westerly direction along Dan Spring Road to the first-mentioned point. |

Canal Basin Area |

That part of the urban district of Tralee bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where the southern projection of the western boundary of the Electricity Supply Board property intersects the unnamed road to the west of Canal New Road, then continuing in a northerly direction along the said projection and boundary for a distance of 32 metres, then continuing due east for a distance of 62 metres, then continuing in a southerly direction in a straight undefined line to the easternmost point of the northern boundary of the former canal basin, then continuing in a westerly direction in a straight undefined line to the first-mentioned point. |

Description of Designated Area in Wexford |

That part of the borough of Wexford bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where Crescent Quay is intersected by the north-eastern projection of the north-western boundary of the premises known locally as Crescent Shopping Complex, then continuing in a south-westerly direction along the said projection and boundary to the point where it joins the south-western boundary of the said premises, then continuing initially in a south-easterly direction along the last-mentioned boundary to the point where it joins the south-eastern boundary of the said premises, then continuing in a north-easterly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and the north-eastern projection thereof to the point where it intersects Crescent Quay, then continuing in a north-westerly direction along Crescent Quay to the first-mentioned point. |
