TRADE MARKS ACT, 1996 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 1996

TRADE MARKS ACT, 1996 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 1996

I, RICHARD BRUTON, Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Trade Marks Act, 1996 (No. 6 of 1996), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Trade Marks Act, 1996 (Commencement) Order, 1996.

2. The 1st day of July, 1996, is hereby fixed as the day on which the Trade Marks Act, 1996 (No. 6 of 1996), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order appoints the 1st of July as the date on which the Trade Marks Act, 1996 comes into operation. The Trade Marks Rules, 1996 come into operation on the same date.
