PROMPT PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS ACT, 1997 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1997

I, RICHARD BRUTON, Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 16 (2) of the Prompt Payment of Accounts Act, 1997 (No. 31 of 1997) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Prompt Payment of Accounts Act, 1997 (Commencement) Order, 1997.

2. The 2nd day of January, 1998, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Prompt Payment of Accounts Act, 1997 (No. 31 of 1997), shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal this 4th day of June, 1997.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 2nd day of January, 1998 as the day on which the Prompt Payment of Accounts Act, 1997 comes into operation.
