S.I. No. 269/1997:

CHEMICAL WEAPONS ACT, 1997 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1997

CHEMICAL WEAPONS ACT, 1997 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1997

I, Richard Bruton, Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 1 of the Chemical Weapons Act, 1997 (No. 28 of 1997) hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Chemical Weapons Act, 1997 (Commencement) Order, 1997.

2. In this Order "the Act" means the Chemical Weapons Act, 1997 .

3. The 1st day of July 1997, is hereby fixed as the day on which the Act comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order appoints the 1st day of July, 1997 as the day on which the Chemical Weapons Act, 1997 comes into operation.
