VIDEO RECORDINGS ACT, 1989 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 2000.

I, JOHN O'DONOGHUE, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35 of the Video Recordings Act, 1989 ( No. 22 of 1989 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This order may be cited as the Video Recordings Act, 1989 (Commencement) Order, 2000.

2. The 1st day of October, 2000, is fixed as the day on which sections 5, 6 and 11 (1)(a), subsections (2), (3) and (5) of section 12 and section 13 of the Video Recordings Act, 1989 ( No. 22 of 1989 ), shall, in so far as not already in operation, come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order provides for the extension of sections 5, 6 and 11 (1)(a), subsections (2), (3) and (5) of section 12, and section 13 of the Video Recordings Act, 1989 to include all video works.
