I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 30 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No 6 of 1966) (as adapted by The Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1999 ( S.I. No. 307 of 1999 ) hereby, for the prevention of the spreading of foot and mouth disease, order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restriction of Import of Horses and Greyhounds) (Amendment) Order, 2001. |

2. In Article 3 of the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restriction of Import of Horses and Greyhounds) Order, 2001 ( S.I. No 51 of 2001 ) the words “United Kingdom” are substituted for “Great Britain”. |

The Order amends the Foot and Mouth Disease (Restriction of Import of Horses and Greyhounds) Order, 2001) ( S.I. No 52 of 2001 ) by extending the restriction on the importation of horses or greyhounds from the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man to prevent the spreading of foot and mouth disease. |
