I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4(4) of the Financial Transfers Act 1992 (No. 27 of 1992), and for the purpose of giving full effect to Council Regulation (EU) No. 1227/2009 ¹ , hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Financial Transfers (Uzbekistan) (Revocation) Order 2010.

2. The Financial Transfers (Uzbekistan) (Prohibition) Order 2009 ( S.I. No. 398 of 2009 ) is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Statutory Instrument and does not purport to be a legal Interpretation.)

The effect of this Order is to revoke S.I. No. 398 of 2009 which prohibited Financial Transfers pursuant to Council Regulation (EC) No. 1859/2005 ² of 14 November 2005 concerning certain restrictive measures in respect of Uzbekistan. Council Regulation (EC) No. 1859/2005 was repealed by Council Regulation (EU) No. 1227/2009 of 15 December 2009.
