I, RUAIRÍ QUINN, T.D., Minister for Education and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 (3) of the Teaching Council Act 2001 (No. 8 of 2001), following consultation with the Council, hereby order as follows: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Teaching Council Act 2001 (Amendment of Nominating Bodies) Order 2012. |
||
2. The Teaching Council Act 2001 is amended by |
||
(a) adding the following to section 8 (2)(c): |
||
(vi) Hibernia College, 2 Clare Street, Dublin 2, |
||
(b) substituting for section 8(2)(d) (ix): |
||
St. Angela's College of Education, Sligo; |
||
(c) substituting for section 8 (2)(d)(x): |
||
such other bodies, providing university or other higher education and training (within the meaning of the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act, 1999 ), as the Council shall determine, |
||
(d) deleting section 8 (2)(d)(xi). |

This instrument amends the lists of bodies with power to nominate members to the Teaching Council, by deleting the now closed St Catherine's College of Education for Home Economics, and adding Hibernia College to the list. |
