I, PHIL HOGAN, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and in order to give full effect to Council Directive 75/442/EEC1 of 15 July 1975 on waste and Directive 2008/98/EC2 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste and repealing certain Directives (Text with EEA relevance), insofar as they relate to waste water, hereby make the following regulations: |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Inspection Plan) Regulations 2013. |
||
2. Section 70K (inserted by section 4 of the Water Services (Amendment) Act 2012 ) of the Water Services Act 2007 is amended by substituting the following for subsection (1): |

“(1) The Agency shall, as soon as may be after the commencement of this section, but not later than 31 March 2013, make a national plan (in this Part referred to as ‘the national inspection plan’) with regard to the inspection and monitoring of domestic waste water treatment systems.”. |

The purpose for which these regulations are made is to revise the date by which the Environmental Protection Agency will make the National Inspection Plan for domestic waste water treatment systems. |
